Hi Gina,

I haven’t checked in for awhile, but I wanted to let you know we are doing good with the boots.  I think Chance is getting tired of me constantly leaning over to see if I lost one, but we are good…

Another interesting thing is that I swear that Chance is testing the boots.  He is a very smart horse.  To see what he can do with them. He is gaining a little more confidence in them. Several years ago  he slipped on a steep down grade, that looked like soft dirt but was hard with marbles under his feet. He really flung over backwards all 4s upuard, and he was trying not to fall on me, so he flung himelf sideways flinging me way off to the side, and I don’t know how he managed to keep off me, but  I know he saved my life that day.

Ever since then he has been extremely slow and careful about any down thing that resembles that place. But he is testing the boots, so I started looking for places to let him practice test on.  We have been having fun doing that.  He is moving free’r and more confident.  And he is getting back to that amazing fast downhill shuffle he used to have.

And I kid you not, his over stride has doubled!   If I had only done this years ago…… I can really see where his shoes and hoof angles and all have really caused him problems. He has always been so good in spite of that…….
