Another e-mail from Renegade® boot user Gordon Frazier:

I just had more success this weekend using Renegade® Glue-Ons in the Chamberlain Creek 50 mile ride Sept. 26. I was riding my big (16,1, 1200lbs) gray mare, Savannah, and we finished 2nd out of about 44 riders. She was runner-up for the Best Condition award too.

I glued the boots on using Adhere on Thursday and took them off using a screwdriver and a rubber mallet(in about 30 minutes) on Sunday. I was reusing the boots she was wearing – the front Glue-Ons she previously wore for the Mt. Diablo 50 and the rear boots she had previously worn for the American River 50 ride earlier this year. Although I am not planning to use these again as the tread is getting a little thin, I did use care taking one of the boots off just to see if I could avoid damaging the boots if I wanted to reuse a third time and I DID avoid damage.

I have been using a dremel with a plastic/laminate cutting bit(looks like a drill bit) to remove the old glue along with another cutting bit that is rounded to clean out where the wall of the boot meets the sole plate. To glue the boots on, I have been following Kirt’s directions as shown in the 2-part Youtube videos that Kirt has posted.
