Getting the cable adjustments dialed in to their optimal setting is critical for long-term success and longevity of your Renegade Hoof Boots. Cables that are too short or too tight will break. The most common cause of cable breakage is an improper adjustment, most of the time being too short. The cable roller buckles need a certain amount of clearance in front of the cable guideway blocks on the sides of the boot. At minimum, there should be at least 3/4″ of clearance between the block and the roller. Larger boot sizes, or longer trim cycles, may need to allow even more clearance, up to 1″. The ideal time to set the cable adjustment is on a fresh trim. The recommended clearance will allow some leeway in how the boots fit over the trim cycle, and should enable the boot and captivator to fit through the trim cycle.

If the heel captivators are tight or difficult to position onto the heel bulbs, the cables need to be lengthened.
